I haven't used it so I wouldn't know. From an outside perspective it would seem more like a pigeon-hole of news and information.
One that is custom tuned to you specifically and one that only shows the news you want to hear about in a light that you'd want to hear it in.
While I can also agree that modern news media essentially does the same thing, its on a much more generic scale, less targeted.

Go piss on someone else's wheaties. I haven't used it because I looked at it and realized it was a waste of my time and energy.

Quite the opposite for me...
It's actually where I discover some of the most interesting or important news and happenings relevant to the feeds I'm following, where I'll otherwise miss it completely.
