It turns out the ER4 seems to prefer SIP TCP (vs UDP).
That is certainly not true. I would look more at your configuration of things.
Again, remember, this is an install with 3CX not FreePBX.

Not arguing that. But EdgeOS has no preference in packets whatsoever.
Did you turn off the SIP helper?
-
@JaredBusch Yep, disabled SIP ALG before I started the install.

FWIW - this issue in particular was probably being caused by the ISP or the Modem, not the edgerouter. We recommended using TCP because it handles ISP NATing better and modems tend to get less confused by it.
While it could have something to do with the edgerouter, we like those routers and they tend to perform well. TCP just tends to be a catch all that fixes a lot of SIP deliverability issues.

I've signed up for it and then asked about pricing. They told me they can't do anything on pricing and couldn't beat my current provider. The lower prices are for resellers and wholesalers only apparently. And I believe someone pointed it out earlier that they shouldn't offering lower prices since we aren't resellers but are end users. Also I asked why they couldn't beat my current prices, the reply I received was that my current providers and other providers like Voip.ms or Twilio don't have the network and support they have.
I've tried the system, I've had failed calls outgoing and then I get these charges for CID lookup and these other charges other providers do not charge. All the reviews on google look consistent so I'm not sure if a customer actually wrote them or the employees. Also I couldn't find out about their history either. No history, no reviews, sketchy pricing = I'll take my business elsewhere.
There is MangoLassi / Republic of IT pricing available. You don't need to be a reseller to get better pricing than the vendors you mention. But you do need to come through the community to get it.

@scottalanmiller curious question...why are you responding to a post from Dec of 2018 made by a user who only posted that one time?

If I want to experiment with @Skyetel in my home lab, how would I go about getting that better pricing?

Because there is bad information out there and it looks like it might be factual given a lack of anything to the contrary. Just because it is old doesn't mean that someone searching on it might not get misinformation and led astray.

Sign up and send someone official, like me, at ML/RoIT the info so that we can tell @Skyetel that you are legit.

@FATeknollogee also, the Internet doesn't get old. It's all just part of the site. So even if the information was correct at the time, it's still important to update things or information gets stale and worthless.
