The Countdown

Erm, I still have no idea what you are talking about.
Spiceworks levels. PC = Pure Capsacin.

Oh, I see. I have to say, this thread has turned into something of an anticlimax for me.

Not sure why...

I dunno, I thought it would be something more exciting. Like @scottalanmiller flying to the moon or something. I'm not really familiar with the workings of Spiceworks. Is triple-PC good?

You're not on SW?! Oh, that changes things. There are 3 PCs total out of the over 2 million total members and 5K or so active members. You have to have 250,000 points to hit PC. Scott is about to hit 750,000. You get 1 point for "spicing" up, or the equivalent of liking a thread, 10 points per thread you post on, regardless of how many posts you have on that thread, 50 for a BA, or best answer, and 25 for an HP, or helpful post. There are things like reviews you can do, which are 25 points each. All in all, Scott just spends, and has spent, way too much time on there. So his points level is insane.

But to answer your question, most people would get a ride to the moon before they hit triple PC. No exaggeration.

I have used spiceworks from time to time, but I'm not familiar with the points system. Will he get a prize or something?
I have 1,385 points. It may be a while before I get to triple PC.

No prize, just recognition. Scott's recognition has peaked, and did a long time ago. Everything he gains now is just fluff. However, Rob being the 4th PC will be huge news.

Yeah, just fake Internet points/bragging rights, really. I'm really hitting it hard before Spiceworld, mostly for the shout-out
The surprising bit here is that Yasaf Burshan was actually ahead of me until I reached 21,000 points out. I've overtaken him and am on target for PC by September 7th or so.

And in that spirit.

@Rob-Dunn , I knew about Yasaf. That's why I was surprised by you overtaking him. I thought you were in the 180K range. He never posts anymore. He just gets points from reports and plugins now.

He does post (he posted yesterday)...just not really in quantity.
I have a lot of scripts, plugins, and for awhile, I was killing on referrals. That's what really shot me up there.
Right now, it's mostly BA's in the Spiceworks support thread. Since I know the app so well, I can rattle them off pretty quickly without breaking up my workday. Once I hit PC, I'll roll back and post more frequently in the Powershell and AD groups.
-
Also on the home stretch to 100K posts and 3K reviews.

Good point. More people have been to the moon than have hit PC. Only three PCs ever. Only two double PCs ever. In reality it took more time than prepping to go to the moon too!

There have been over 500 astronauts. 12 have gone to the moon.
-
17,250.... it is a long road but I am making my way down it. Over 20,000 since the countdown began.
-
9,853...
soon.

I noticed that on the daily report. You are very, very close. Do you plan to immediately stop posting and completely disappear like the last two who made it?
It should be called the "Recluse Reward" as everyone who makes it just vanishes.

I will definitely drop off activity-wise, but not disappear. My plan is to return back to focusing on more AD and Powershell stuff...but...with that said, the new job allows me a heckuva lot more time to hang out and answer questions...

Are you going to make it before SpiceWorld?
