I'd also suggest using RDP to actually use the Windows VM.
Remote Viewer is pretty good after installing spice guest tools.
For RDP, you would have to create an isolated virtual network if you don't have an extra network interface in order to remote into a Windows VM.

Rather than the virt-manager console?
Yeah. RDP seems to work better, and things like the Windows key actually work, lol.
When I'm logged in using Wayland display support, Windows key works when I'm using the remote viewer. You just have to allow it inhibit shortcuts.

This is only needed if you're not using a bridge or routed network.

What's your preferred RDP client ?

I use Remmina.

I have zero issues using virt manager viewr for my local guest VM
for remote, I would use RDP or ScreenConnect.

This is what I use for RDP.
-
I use remote-viewer due to it allowing multiple monitors, and performance seems better than virt-manager.

Ditto. Remmina is pretty much my go-to.

The console is normally just for local management tasks, not for actual usage. In cloud computing, you don't expect to even have the console.

Lol, they are moving to GitLab... I wonder why?

Nothing wrong with it when needed, but it doesn't need to perform well for its role.
