Canon IR3025 Only Prints Double Sided
-
Multiple Windows 10 machines, all using the same network connected Canon IR3025 printer. It prints fine, but always prints double sided instead of single sided. Printer itself is not broken, if you use the copy function it is fine with single sided. So appears to be a driver issue. A quick search finds years of people having this issue across multiple operating systems included some Windows and Mac.
The setting for double sided printing is most definitely turned off. But it is doing it anyway.

Have you checked the Printing Defaults?
It is under Advanced printer properties tab.
Have you tried serving through cupsd? -

It is under Advanced printer properties tab.Yes, it's a feature, but shut off.

The printer def thinks it should be using double sided print, it is right there in your screen shot.
Where is your profile tab under Printer Properties?
This tab allows you to set options for Default profile options and other profiles, perhaps someone changed default profile to double sided.
This is different place and settings than Printing Defaults which is located under Properties>Advanced. -

It thinks that it is a feature, but not that it is supposed to be doing it. The first screen shot verifies that it believes that it "can" do it, the second one shows that it is set not to.

Similarly, the print quality can be 600 dpi, but is set to 300 dpi:

If I print from Word, which is only installed on one machine, it offers me a choice of how to print. That's different from the other machine.

What about on the printer tray Option (on the printer itself)?

I mean, I do it all the time by going to the web interface of the printer.

There is almost always 2 or so places to disable/enable 2-sided printing. I usually have the opposite problem where people want to print 2-sided but can't figure out how to.

I remember having that annoying problem when printing from Fedora to a Brother MFP device.

This is real Windows 10, not Fedora that just looks like Windows 10
