And a WIG is define as "a manufactured covering of natural or synthetic hair for the head"
So drop the topic.
That Wig definition would make it a hat, by definition.
Did you even read the definition. . . Only if it is used to display status of an office could you call it a hat.
Otherwise it's a manufactured cover

Now a fedora is a group of hats. Many hats, including cowboy hats, are types of fedoras. But wigs are not fedoras.
Type, style, category... yeah... wigs are a category of hat.

I did read it, that's how I knew it was a hat by definition.
A manufactured head covering would always be a hat. That it is or isn't made of real or synthetic hair would help us know whether or not the kind of hat is a wig or not. That wig definitely makes it really clear that all wigs have to be hats as you can't have a thing meet that definition without being a hat.

This is one of the most on topic threads ever.

But a wig is only considered a hat if it also meets the definition of a hat. A hat is used to display status of an office (at least with one of the definitions.)
Since most people aren't out wearing wigs to show that they have some sort of clout, wigs aren't fucking hats.
If this was british parliament, then sure your wig is a hat due to the convention and standard of showing status.

Well, since all wigs must always meet the definition of a hat, whether answering yes or no here still results in all wigs being hats since if a wig doesn't meet that definition, it simultaneously stops being a wig and just becomes... a pile of loose hair I guess.

That's out next question, is barber shavings on the floor just a formless wig?

This is teh part I'm confused about. That's not what it takes for something to be a hat.
-
Hat:
A shaped covering for the head worn for warmth, as a fashion item, or as part of a uniform.
-
Find any wig that doesn't meet one of those requirements.
-
All wigs are shaped. Wigs are worn for the same purposes as hats: warmth, fashion, or uniform.
To cover "not having hair" applies to both wig and non-wig hats as that is part of fashion.

It's a quantum wig, in a state of high entropy.
-
If there is a hat in the woods and no one is wearing it, is it still a wig?
-
Are all hats a form of synthetic hair and therefore all hats are actually wigs?

That depends upon the fashion of which the synthentic hair was woven would depend on whether it is a hat or a wig.

But does it? Some hats, like most fedoras, are made from hair already. So that's pretty clear that a cowboy hat must be a wig since it is hair, natural hair, in fact. Just felted.
But something like a baseball cap is made from cotton strands, which definitely qualifies as a synthetic hair option. So wigs as well.
Now what about cheap, form molded plastic party hats? Well those are just synthetic plastic made to look like fedoras or baseball caps. So while it is a single piece of plastic, that's just synthetic rather than natural, and it is made to look like other things that are made of hair, so it is synthetic hair, just really crappy, poor synthetic hair.
Which makes for a really interesting problem that now we've realized... all hats must be wigs!

But in the case of fedoras, cowboy hats, and sombreros, these hairs are interweaved with one another, similar to basket weaving (which are not hats at all, just using the same strategy of developing the product). However, wigs are created in such a way that 1 end of the hair is attached to the main body of the wig, therefore, creating the effect of hair.

Right, just like a "weave" which is a common hair style. So as close to "just like hair" as you can get. They literally are copying a standard hair style.
