Adding Network Equipment and Topology Icons in LibreOffice
- 
LibreOffice 5.4.5.1 (Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw) and Fedora 27 Workstation were used when creating the following instructions.
VRT Network Equipment Icons
https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/vrt-network-equipment
Step 1: Download VRT Network Equipment extension
Step 2: Add extension to LibreOffice

Open LibreOffice and go to Tools and then Extension Manager.
 - 
Click Add and browse to the extension that you just downloaded and click Open.
 - 
After you have successfully added the extension, it should look this:

Close out of Extension Manager and then click on Restart Now button.

 
Step 3: Confirm that the VRT themes are available
- Open LibreOffice and go to View and then Gallery. You should now see six VRT Themes.

 
Cisco Network Topology Icons
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/about/brand-center/network-topology-icons.html
Step 1: Download 3015_jpeg.zip file and extract it
Step 2: Add the 3015_jpeg files

Open LibreOffice and go to View and then Gallery.
 - 
Click on New Theme... and a new window called Properties of New Theme will appear.
 - 
On the General tab, change New Theme to Cisco Network Topology
 - 
On the Files tab, click on Find Files... and browse to the extracted folder named 3015_jpeg and click OK.
 - 
Click on Add All and all the files will disappear. Click OK.
 - 
A new theme called Cisco Network Topology is now added to the Gallery.

Latest Java JRE have gone along way, and much faster and the whole oracle deal got stopped , and it is much lighter and responsive, check it out. after install disable web browser support, and update checking and it will never nag you, actually I think it is right to prep users machines with latest .net framework + latest java

I hated that I had to install java on the lab computers back then, because of Elluminate Live.
