How do you listen to your music library on the go

Been looking for a similar product for a while... I seem to remember SongBird being able to work,... but I have to look again.
What about Banshee, or Amarok? I don't know anything about either.. but Google search came up with those as options..

Doesn't iphone have a way of getting into USB drive mode? or was that removed? or is that only a function through itunes?

I haven't tried for awhile but I remember I was able to access some photos and videos using Shotwell but that's about it.

I am not worried about access data from my iPhone on my Linux machines. I am looking at ways to listen to my music library on my iPhone without iTunes.

That only gives you access to photos last I tried it.

Just chiming in that I'm with @dbeato on Google Music. Uploaded my personal collection to it years ago. I also purchase most of my music through there now as well with money I earn from Google Surveys. Easy to cache songs for offline listening as well when you're going somewhere without internet access.

Well, prior to Amazon dumping it, I would have easily chosen them because I use Prime and listen to Amazon Music already.
With Google's history of dumping products, I am extra wary of them doing the same now that Amazon has done it.

Yeah I do a lot of streaming through Amazon Music as well for songs I don't own.
I understand your lack of trust in Google to keep the product going, but I really don't know how much more assurance you can get from other providers that are lesser known that they'll be around for 5-10 years. You just gotta pick the best one at the time that looks solid and if it gets bumped, move on. That or do as @dbeato mentioned in his first post and put it into NextCloud that you can control yourself.
