In RAID or 16TB usable.
-
16TB usable. Important files, i sync it with synology cloud nas .
-
That's a lot of data! How long does that take to back up?
-
Does BB have a referral program? I'm probably going to switch from CrashPlan to BB if I like it, and somebody here might as well benefit from it.

I think that they might.

We (ntg) have a Affiliate Link if you would like to use it. af2553

@reid-cooper my synology NAS is in local network with 1 Gbps link. so it is quite fast.

What about Linux users? BackBlaze does not offer their solution for Linux. You have to use B2 and that is not as affordable.
-
@scottalanmiller after trying, get to know they charge 5$ per computer license.
I thought they charge 5$ flat for 1 single account with any computer backupstill considered cheap...

B2 isn't bad, though.

It is double the cost.
This is their own calculator. (https://www.backblaze.com/b2/cloud-storage-pricing.html)

I can get around it by backing up my Fedora Desktop to a NAS or USB and then running a Windows 10 VM on my desktop (I do already) and having BackBlaze there backup the USB or NAS.
But that is hacky.
-
@jaredbusch Not only that, but if you need your data back, you have to pay for that too.

As I have never needed to use it, I am not even worried about that cost.
If it came to getting it back, I would be recovering from a total site loss and the expense is worth it.

One thing to look at, too, is deleted file retention policies for these services.
If that matters to you.
I think BB is 30 days. CP is forever.
That's not saying either is better, just something to consider.
