Mangolassi.it is operating in every country from which people sign up.
Nope.

@dustinb3403 said in SW rant time:
The information that Google was forced to delete was generated in Spain, but searchable around the world.
Yup

With this relationship, if you have members of ML who want their content deleted, and they are in a country that supports this right, you must comply.
Nope, nor do we have to hand you over to North Korea.

This isn't a matter of "we'll we don't work there". It's a matter that you offer your service to people from that country.
Yes it is.

The information google deleted, wasn't just from their Spain servers. It was from every server they operate around the world so the information couldn't be googled.
And obviously this isn't related to the issue. Why did you state it? Google is registered in the EU, so EU law applies to them. You state this as if it supports your point, but with ANY information about it, obviously it is unrelated.

Yes I can. When you state something patently untrue, it's that easy. GS is not incorporated within the EU. If you feel it is, find that document. The onus on all of your false associations are on you and you alone to prove.

By your logic, Dustin, you too do business in every country in the world. Are you covered by all countries laws?

If I was making money off of my posts, then yes.
So because ML doesn't make money, it isn't covered?
-
@dustinb3403 said in SW rant time:
Since I post of my own accord and make no money from my posting I'm not "doing business".
And how did you arrive at this leap of logic?
Why is it "where people sign up from" but not "where they can sign up from?" there are so many illogical leaps here, I can't even tell what the basis of any of it is.

@DustinB3403 ever gotten a new job since joining ML? You are covered by making money. You have, so you are.

None of my posting has driven to job change. That is a completely illogical jump there and I don't appreciate the insinuation of such.
Sure it has, it helps career growth and recognition. Prove that you've not learned one thing here, that your career hasn't moved forward, that it in way does it benefit any aspect of your career.

But all of the insinulations that we are breaking a law we are not covered by, that money is being made, that we operate illegally in Europe, that deleting accounts means deleting content over time... those are okay when they are not logical. But using your own logic, that makes you upset? If YOUR logic makes YOU upset, there isn't much that I can do.

This is like saying that reading and learning about IT hasn't affected your IT career. Everything you do affects your career, everything. Some things are negatives, like playing video games instead of working. Some are positives, like reading books about IT or participating in IT discussions.
If you've had job change, how can that not be affected by the career activities in which you are involved?

What's up with all those deleted posts?

@DustinB3403 figured out that what he posted didn't make sense and is deleting what he said.

Explain this to me, let's say I have a computer repair forum. I do not block any countries at all, so everyone in the world that can access the site, can sign up. Let's say a user from Africa signs up, let's say Africa has a certain law about the internet forbidding some kind of content that is on my website. How does Africa enforce it's laws on me here in Texas (United States?)
