iOS 11 annoyances

@dashrender Nothing is wrong with PayPal, but Venmo is like 2 clicks and money sent directly to the recipients linked bank account. No signing into paypal, no entering email addresses (just select out of your contacts), no picking whether its for personal or business use, and ultimately no waiting to transfer from paypal to your bank account. Just a very streamlined version of paypal. I've never sent paypal money on the phone, so it may be an easier process than on the computer.

Well PayPal want to be your bank, or they want to hold the money because they earn interest on it.
So as long as you are ok with that and don’t need cash, it’s pretty darned easy.

@dashrender PayPal owns Venmo. Venmo heavily used by younger generation today.

never heard about it until these posts.

How is battery life with the update? This is my first day, with a brand new phone, with iOS11, and at first glance, the battery seems to be draining fast.

I am not seeing any noticeable difference and I am a super heavy user.

It does seem to drain faster. My wife's phone is so bad we actually called Apple yesterday. Battery diagnostics were fine, so probably software related, perhaps even 3rd party apps don't play nice with iOS 11.
-
I’m super happy with it so far. Loving the new dock on the iPad. It’ll be a lot better once I upgrade my iPad and can get the full multi-tasking experience (I can only overlay a second app on my mini 2)

So it drained from 100 to about 40 percent before noon. Now it’s been around 40 ever since then. Weird

I’m loving the new phone though. When I’m used to having a broken phone for the past couple months, having a phone that actually works is nice.

Thus far - about normal here.. but since I nearly never get to use mine for anything other than a few simple games, FB, and Safari, it's difficult to say.

So I finally got to play with this on my iPad Pro. I LOVE THIS!!! Multi tasking is a whole lot better than it was. The customizable dock is awesome. The new files app is VERY awesome I have my iCloud, dropbox, google drive and OneDrive all in one place without opening the stupid individual clunky app for each of them. There's also some more stuff for the apple pencil and it works better than it did before. I am really happy with this upgrade.
-
Right now I have an 'issue' in that a new text message will have the bottom half cut off until I close / open the keyboard sometimes.
Previous update had this issue as well. When on a call, text messages do not display on the lock screen. annoying.
-
That Files app is a godsend. Drag and drop is amazing, but wish it was more functional with 3rd party apps. For instance, GMail has it, but every time i’ve tried to drag/drop, the green + will pop up but the file won’t attach.

all softphone apps are battery draining monsters. because they have to keep the phone awake to maintain the SIP connection.

Yeah, that's true, however Bria isn't too bad in my experience so far. my iphone 6s plus was fine. I was guessing that Bria just didn't make the necessary updates to play nice with iOS 11.
Time will tell.

I still need to buy Bria. It has been on my list of things to work on for months.

asking a question so don't bite my head off...
Is this something Android can do better because Android doesn't lock devs out as much?

Android can do anything better... except "cool kid factor"... My softphone app stays on all the time, only a tiny bit extra battery drain. But I'm not "cool" enough for iCrap, so YMMV.
"iOS 11 annoyances" - you mean beyond the mere existence of a company like Apple? Because those smarmy, turtleneck wearing douches are really the main annoyance, followed closely by their fangirls.
