Doh, forgot tags and people. @QuixoticJeremy @QuixoticJustin and @QuixoticAndy

Looks like LastPass either had the wrong password or Company Name for the login form.
How much does the Company Name matter? I keep forgetting what the abbreviation I set is and LastPass does a horrible job with that extra field.

It actually is very important, with the incorrect comp name you aren't going to be able to login. Machines get tied to companies so that you only view your machines and this was the tenant system used so that multiple accounts could be placed under a single company. This will likely be revamped later on as we had already been on the fence about this approach to begin with but for now it keeps things secure and leaves everyone able to only view their machines.

Good to know, and good that you already have a plan to move away from it. I can only imagine the fun a hacker would have

I mean on the upside it actually adds another layer of complexity for a hacker but we do obviously already encrypt (salt and hash) all passwords etc. But it isn't as simple as it could be for the average user which is a downside.

Ultimately using complexity/abstraction for the purpose of security is never the end goal. Proper encryption/security techniques should accomplish this (which we already do). My end goal is I want to do two factor authentication which will happen eventually.

Rolling back around to this... LastPass just got it right, I have no idea what changed on that end: bad feeling.

Sounds to me like there might have been an issue somewhere between the chair and the keyboard for Travis on this one :).
-
Not sure how that would happen with LP though.

What ever gave you that idea.... not like I haven't missed the difference between the one word in the popup box that says "replace" instead of "add" before... really.
