Sodium Update
-
At least there is a work around, lol.
-
Unfortunately our big fix attempt did not work. There is a bug in Salt that Sodium relies on and we are trying to figure out how we can get around it in the most elegant way.

pretty sure that is about 80% of what programming is... Getting around some bug in an elegant way.

80% of programming is making the bugs

80% of programming is making the bugs
Followed by 19% of eloquently working around the newly created bugs, and 1% of coding around users making the developers go WTF?!

Getting this on my dashboard today... if this issue has been covered in this thread already, then feel free to yell at me for non-readification.
-
We just pushed out a new release for today. Trying to fix some of the bugs that people have been finding.
-
And the evening's second release is now out.
-
We are pushing out the last release of the night any minute.
-
One of the big goals of tonight's latest release is to eliminate the accidental "global chat" option that appears from time to time.

Sorry for the two week hiatus. As many of you know, there have been some major employment changes in the Quixotic team and, of course, that will have an effect on SodiumSuite. What exactly that effect will be, for better or for worse, will take some time to determine. Our hopes are that once the dust has settled that SS will see an increase in development effort, but it will certainly be a few months before that can be realized. I'll be doing my best to keep everyone abreast of the latest news and status.
-
I figure I'll post here now that I am working on the ground floor as SAM said.
How long does it take for machines to check in? I installed on one Windows VM about 10 minutes ago and not seeing anything in the control center or assets.

Takes up to twenty minutes, the cycle of check ins is a 20 minute cycle. So could be fast, or could be 20 minutes. Ten minutes is the average if everything works perfectly.
-
Mine last checked in six minutes ago, next check in should be in fourteen minutes.

New update has rolled out today. We are focused on trying to improve the "pick up job" that allows new systems to join. There have been some issues with the old one as many of you have seen, and we want to get that rock solid.
-
Want me to test?

Not yet, still isn't working here. More testing to be done before we are ready
Thanks though, hopefully shortly.
-
Another new update has dropped, let's see how it looks. Testing now.
-
We have a new release system in place that allows us to update way faster than we were in the past. Making new deployments easier, at least.
-
New deployment is out and we are seeing some new machines that had been waiting to be accepted working now.
