Meraki is no longer free :(, so I'm looking at other, paid alternatives. To manage around 60 iPhones & iPads, and ideally around 30 laptops. Suggestions, please? I know there are a few Meraki SM users on ML. I'm happy to stick with Meraki but I haven't got any pricing yet.
I do not have any email or notice that the free account I use is being shut down.

You were likely grandfathered in, I went to sign up for a free account for the 100 devices, and it's no longer an option from what I could find.
-
Indeed. I was expecting to be grandfathered in, but it turns out that I originally created my Meraki account via one of those free APs they send out and so they actually gave me a free 3 year enterprise licence, which has now expired. I never even used the AP, which is annoying.
That said, I'm surprised you haven't got any notification, since I get:
"You are using the legacy version of Systems Manager. Many features are unavailable in the legacy version of Systems Manager. Purchase a license for access to the new features and for access to 24/7 phone & email support."So even if I was grandfathered in, it would likely only be a temporary relief, since I expect the free version to become outdated pretty quickly.

Not a lot. For Apple devices I think it's just:
- require a pin.
- remote unlock.
- remote wipe.
- remote install e-mail profile.
- display general info (ie use it as an asset register)
For laptops, I don't really need any features at all. It's mostly just for an asset register.
I believe MaaS360 will do all of this if memory serves. But if I were shopping, I'd look at MaaS, MobileIron, and AirWatch to name a few. I know MaaS will set you up with a trial if you want to test functionality.
-
I love MDM software and Meraki is really the best one I've used, but the cost per device now is just staggering to me.
I'd really have to crunch the numbers to see if it's worth the added monthly expense for the functionality.

Those "free" APs were less then worthless. Worst give away I've ever seen of this nature.

What is it now?

MaaS360 is definitely one of the more powerful and popular options. It's IBM now.
-
@scottalanmiller It averages almost $4.50 per device.
-
We've been using SimpleMDM. I ended up going with them because they had great support. I could never seem to get any help from Meraki when we needed it.
$2.50 per month. So not free, but cheaper than some sites.
-
Zoho has a free one. I don't know how featureful it is though.

Good to know.
-
Only free for less than 25 devices. Otherwise it's $1845 for up to 100.
Not cheap, but cheaper than Meraki (I now have pricing and it's a bit eye watering), and considerably cheaper than MaaS360.

Anyone use Microsoft's free offering? I used to use Intune, but never got on with it.
-
I saw Intune, but have never used it, nor have I ever heard of anyone using it.
And I've worked with some of the largest companies in the world. (indirectly)
-
We used InTune a little a while ago. It was okay, but very basic.
-
There you go, @DustinB3403 , that's two people you now know who have used it.
-
I have InTune with other services but I used it for a bit, got rid of it. One of those where free was bad for me, As a paid product it is poor.
-
Zero contracts we have are interested in paying for a service monthly. I don't understand the archaic thought processes here. These are the same 'decision makers' that think open source means insecure.

Most companies I've worked for disliked monthly reoccurring subscriptions. They rare pay a huge upfront fee and pay nothing until required to upgrade.... And then often putting the upgrades off as long as possible.
