Vultr $2.50 Instances Sold Out

Should be, but doesn't take much to make $2.50 not worth offering.
-
And then there is billing overhead, too.

Wow, can't believe that they did it for such a short period of time. That was REALLY short. I get that it doesn't make a lot of financial sense for them, but it was unique and important, I think.
It's also possible as you and I found out that that isn't really the case.
AKA, the front line people don't always know what is going on.

I find it hard to trust anyone who claims to offer free Microsoft Windows Server.

Yeah, nothing free about it, that'd be a "bring your own license" model. Does Microsoft even offer a $10/month license of some sort? Anything that could drop the price point of the license alone?

I've been renting an entire server for a home lab currently, so I've got more capacity than time I can get projects rolled out.

Well, 8 cores and 16GB of RAM goes a long, long way in my CentOS world.

Honestly not real impressed with them, but it's the best bang for the buck I've found.

The web site mostly, a bog standard Drupal or Wordpress theme looks better, and opening new windows all the time when logging in, yuck. Support was actually good when I needed a hard drive replaced. tho.

@travisdh1 What OS are you using? What are you using for virtualization?

OS = XenServer 6.5
I haven't looked at what it would take to do the upgrade to XS7 on it yet.

Me too, lol. I'm running 14 VMs on that. My beefiest is Zabbix.

Here's the reply from Vultr support today:
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in our $2.50 'sandbox' plan. We are officially SOLD OUT of this extremely popular introductory offering. Please consider other VC2 sizes.
Why is this awesome plan sold out? This boils down to supply and demand. In order to maintain the high performance you've come to know and love at Vultr we limit the number of sandbox plans on each physical host node. This is to ensure the absolute best performance for our production-ready instances.
Will this inventory be replenished?
Yes. In the next 2-3 weeks we will bring additional sandbox capacity online. Please consider visiting/refreshing https://my.vultr.com/deploy periodically as it is possible this could happen sooner.
Thanks,
Joshua Brand
