OS for display TV

Just wondering before I order a Intel Compute Stick.
What do people think will be the best OS for a display TV and will only be displaying graphs and stats from a web site or 3
e.g. Zabbix status page, MPLS link status, maybe help desk stats.
My thoughts where simple desktop OS like CentOS or Ubuntu loading Firefox and a few tabs with a rotator plugin.

If you're thinking for a digital display setup I'd look at screenly.

All that you'd need is a Raspberry Pi and a display.

The nice thing about screenly is you just add the sources as a web address, and specify for how long they are on screen till they rotate to the next one.
You can even have expiration dates for content.

HDMI Cable.Yes, a full Pi kit cost $60 on amazon excluding the HDMI cable and the SD card of course. All in all its something like $78 bucks.
A small savings over the Compute Sticks.
A major plus is you can easily manage the content for any set of displays from anywhere on your network. Just go to the internal webserver that Screenly creates and update the content.
No reason to have to access the display or Compute Stick with a keyboard and mouse.

If you wanted to operate several displays at once, you could get a HDMI splitter like this.

I did think that at first but thought I might have each display showing different things in time

Still no biggy Rasp Pi's are cheap.

Ordered a Pi kit to play with. Will try screenly first.

Not that I don't like it
but seems to only show static stuff. I want it to display pages that need to be Logged into fiorst and there doesn't seem to be a way of doing it.So just thought to save time (as I will come back to screenly) install something like CentOS with a GUI and use Firefox and Tab Rotation.

I didn't think Ubuntu was operable on the Pi. But hey no harm no foul I suppose.

Most of the big distros are in the Pi
