@scottalanmiller I've said basically what Socrates said many times. Had no idea he felt the same way but somehow feel more validated in my stance.
I can't get the video to play, but let me guess.... he says democracy is bad because the common man is an idiot?
Ding ding ding. We have a winner.
Technically no. It's that the average person has not contemplated government. He doesn't mention intelligence but rather effort.
Potato, potato. I'd guess that now most of the uneducated masses are less intelligent than in the time of Socrates.

Zoolander
Sincere condolences. When I went on a cruise, that movie played the whole time, so many different language versions. It was always dubbed in one language and subtitled in another, and it was still terrible every time I walked by a TV that week.

I watched the first several episodes of Luke Cage, but then lost interest.
Currently in the middle of "13 Reasons Why" on Netflix.

Heard good things about that one too, it's on the list.

The Force Awakens with Liesl. She has never seen it. It's on Netflix now.

Liesl wasn't into it until Chewbacca showed up, now she's happy.

Did you tell her it was directed by Jar Jar?

We don't let her watch Jar Jar movies.

Watching my Home Movies box set. If you don't know, that is Brendan Small's first animated show (Metalocalypse is his most famous one). It has sooooo many voice cameos from famous stand up comedians (including the late, great Mitch Hedberg). Also one of H. Jon Benjamin's (Archer) early shows.

The new Doctor Who. Can't wait for Peter Capaldi and Stephen Moffet to leave and get some real storylines going here.

We were just discussing this last night. We both thought that Capaldi did a good job, he just had nothing to work with. The writing was terrible. I've been a Doctor Who fan since ~1980 with Tom Baker, but with the latest writing, I've lost interest. I don't think that the BBC really cares anymore. And I think that Moffet has just been trying to get out of a contract or something.
