@NerdyDad Hi, I am with S3, and we may be interested in buying your e-waste! Would you like to give us a call? (615) 873-4466 (my ext. is 233). For more information about us, you can check out s3mgmt.com. This is not a spam account, btw. I am the marketing director here and happened to stumble across this thread while working
Can you provide certificate of destruction for hard drives? That would be the only catch.
-
@NerdyDad Absolutely, and we're DOD and NAID certified. We can do 1 to 7 passes based on your preference.
-
@NerdyDad We want to talk to you more about this; go ahead and give us call at that number, and we can get something set up!

Thanks for popping in. Did you see the link on Twitter?

@scottalanmiller Hey! I actually saw this in a Google Alert because I had just changed the settings to notify me about e-waste "as it happens" haha. But since I am passionate about the e-waste and ITAD industries, I thought I'd jump into this forum after clicking on the link from the alert because I thought S3 might be able to help out. Thank you for welcoming me here; I think I'll stick around!

@PSingh perfect timing then!
Where are you based?
Just an FYI, all vendors are welcome to participate here for free, unlike many other communities. So you are welcome to participate "as an IT pro" or put on your vendor hat and participate "as a vendor." No need to tip toe around the issue, so to speak.
For better community recognition, always good to add an avatar even if it is not as strikingly handsome as mine. And good to pop into the following thread and introduce yourself so everyone knows who you are! Other than that.... welcome to the community!

At my previous employer we used Computer Crusher on a consistent basis (located in Denton, TX). They will do on-site data destruction if needed and will of course provide a certificate of destruction. They do a great job, and I'm happy to put you in touch with my contact there if you would like.

@scottalanmiller We are based out of Nashville, TN.
And gotcha re vendor posting here -- thank you for the heads up! I didn't even think about that, but good to know that I can reach out to folks here sometimes to let them know about our e-waste and ITAD services. While I'm plugging away, just to be clear: S3 pays you to get e-waste (and other inventory surplus) off your hands!
Next step: intro + avatara!

Only need an intro once Glad to have you here. You are probably our first recycler!

We found a "Computers 2 Kids" charity that we donate all PCs, servers, etc to... that are at least in good enough condition to work or get working with minimal effort. Ex: new hard drive or RAM needed.
It's local to us here in San Diego... but there may be something similar near you.
