Unifi AP refusing to upgrade
-
There was a new firmware update pushed out a few days ago from Ubiquiti and I did most of the access points last Friday.
A couple different units refuse to upgrade. I have defaulted, readopted, etc and still no upgrade sticking.
This Jeff City unit is just pissing me off. This is why I upgraded the controller this morning. Thought it might help.
Any suggestions?

I know this doesn't explain why the access point is having the issue but you can try updating the ap through ssh just to get it upgraded.

When I say defaulted, I used SSH to log in and default the unit. I have never had one fail to upgrade like this before. It is multiple sites too. One at this one, 1 at another, and 1 at a third.

Did you try upgrading the firmware via SSH?

I seriously just answered that question with the post you quoted. FFS.

Anyway. There are new features in the Unifi Controller that I have never needed to use since they were added. going to try those before I break down to SSH.
SSH is a pain int he ass because I have to go to the settings for each site and get the device management password.
-
So just told it to do a custom upgrade.
I used the URL from the UBNT download site.
Normally the devices get their firmware from your controller instance.

You said you RESET it, not upgraded the firmware.

Yes, I know I said that. But that was still my answer to the question. Because he asked the same thing.

Ah, I see your point.

Well that failed as well. So much for improved GUI tools.
So, F. Off to do an SSH upgrade on one to see if that resolves it.
-
Nope. still no dice.

Not before the unit rebooted.
issued the updated command, used the public URL from UBNT, it downloaded then said waiting for update then rebooted.
Normal SSH update screens.Next thing to try will be to forget it from the controller, then SSH in and do a full script reset, then see what happens.
-
Ok, unit forgotten in the controller.
Ransyswrapper.sh restore-default
from SSH.Now doing the upgrade prior to adoption.
-
Upgrade successful.
Annoyed as f***.
-
Woot, at least it worked.

But manual. I have 4 more like this spread across more sites.
-
Just did another one and skipped the
syswrapper.sh restore-default
step.- Forget AP from controller
- Wait for it to reboot
- Connect via SSH using ubnt/ubnt
- Upgrade the firmware
- For an original UAP
upgrade http://dl.ubnt.com/unifi/firmware/BZ2/3.7.37.6065/BZ.ar7240.v3.7.37.6065.170118.0908.bin
- For an original UAP
- Wait for it to reboot after upgrading
- Adopt it again in the controller.
- Wait for it to provision itself and reboot.
