New Years Resolutions?

What are your resolutions?
I have 2.

Cut sodas. Drink nothing but water and sweet tea (occasionally on the sweet tea).

Start working out and becoming more active. I'm not going out, getting a gym membership for an entire year and only using it for a day. Just thinking about starting off with some walking/jogging/running and some aerobics to burn the fat off. Not so much on building muscle yet as to lose the weight.

Never was a coffee drinker.

- Be Purposeful (I need to organize every detail of my day, instead of being haphazard about half the stuff in my life and organized with other parts).
- Be More Active (I sit for like 18 hours a day not trying to do cross fit just not sit for 18 hours a day) So a standing desk is in the works.

Been without those for a few years now. Don't miss them at all. Just water and coffee now.
Never was a coffee drinker.
Maybe you should add a resolution to start that.

- Get Time Management for System Administrators by Thomas A. Limoncelli. He describes real easily how to cut down on distractions, properly prioritize, and to organize your day purposefully. Here it is on Amazon.
- Totally agree.

Already read it! That is a GREAT book. Where I am organized is because of some of his ideas. Just need to do it for everything.

Already read it! That is a GREAT book. Where I am organized is because of some of his ideas. Just need to do it for everything.
Totally Understand. I run first line support for my location along with my SysAdmin duties at work. At home, I have young kids. Enough said there.

I actually no longer have a child at home and now I am having more issues with the change in my situation. 20 years ago pre-children I was barely out of high school so organization wasn't a thing that I worried about then.

- Better my time management at work
- Get fitter
- Sort out my AR Drone so when the nicer weather comes in I can take it out and fly it

not exactly goals since you're already in the works for both. And the move is only a matter of time since I'm assuming you've already paid for the airfare.

You're just jealous that I'm working so diligently on my goals

My big one is to be more mindful and own myself and my actions. Broken down it looks like this.
- Continue to transform my body. I am at the point I won't say lose weight, as it is more than that. I am down 100lbs in the last 5 years, not it is more about gaining muscle, and lowering body fat than having a number goal.
- Meditate more and own my thoughts and mental processes. Disconnect my feelings and wants from my actions, and delay actions until I know why I am acting.
- Cut down alcohol. It has been heavier than I want, and doesn't align with my goals.
- Desire less. I have cut my possessions down by about 30-40% percent, and I want to keep going, less overhead, less stress, focus more on experiences and time spent with my daughter and less about buying and maintaining things.

My roommate, who drinks daily, went out with me the other day. I wasn't even buzzed and she crashed onto the sidewalk and passed out. She couldn't even remember having gone out the next day!

It has been a few years since we have had a chance, but @Slava had to carry me home last time. I was about 1 drink to 1.5 for you. I consider that a victory.
