DevOps tools are apparently becoming a thing for desktop deployments (Ansible, Chef, Salt)
ChocolatelyI'd be really surprised if he used those but it's not impossible.
@jimmynelson Do you know if they are even running Linux there in any capacity?
@stacksofplates is using those tools on Windows today. They are limited to Linux any longer.
Interesting. I'll have to put that in my test environment at home.

@wirestyle22 Would you be interested in doing some short-term work (Rollout and standard DSE II duties) for CDS at Shell (Bank Street, London) for 2 weeks from the 3rd January? r.
This is message for my agency

@wirestyle22 this is the message from my agency . He's out for holiday now

@wirestyle22 someone tell me about duties like Network drive mapping in windows, Network printer set up, outlook shared folders mapping, outlook signatures, outlook 2010/ 13
These things have almost nothing to do with rollouts - what you specifically mentioned in your OP. Rollouts are more about deploying software/hardware to end users/end points.
These things are about user configuration, I guess I'd call it a gray area.
But what do you mean tell you about duties like? Are those the duties listed on the job posting? We can't really just give you a how to on anything you might encounter. We can only really answer specific questions.

You work for a company that contracts out IT work, correct? So there needs to be a contract in place that clearly defines what your responsibilities are and what their expectations are. It can't just be a small e-mail like that.
-
@wirestyle22 ok . I will send message to ask my agency duties

Wow - that's super vague. And short term? I'm guessing this is not the job for you. I'm guessing CDS is expecting someone to come in and either a) just be moving some computers around, maybe unboxing, plugging into a network, pull and image and then put on a user desktop... or b) they expect you to be a DSE II (is that really a thing in London?) and ready to create images, build Group Policies, etc.

Maybe he doesn't - he might just work for a placement company, or a temp company. Often times those companies don't care what your qualifications are, they are just sending over a warm body.

Unsure. If it's a placement company then he may need to implement his own imaging etc. We'll see what happens

@Dashrender l'm new in IT industry I can start from there

@Dashrender What's meaning of CDS and DSE ll ??

That's just it - we don't know.
I'm guessing the DSE is a Desktop Support Engineer, the II means a level 2 person, not a new to the job of Engineer person.
I don't know what a CDS is.

Is this one of those random emails you get from a recruiter, when you sign up on a job search site?
I would think an actual job offer would include a lot more information. -

I only guessed that because he mentioned in the OP that he wanted to learn Rollout engineer. whatever that means.
