Did another one bite the dust?

@nadnerB
I think a weeks worth of beating on it (and not with a baseball bat) is well worth MS replacing it. -

@gjacobse that was filmed just down the street here.
Nice
ThreadJack:
I missed seeing the cast of The Jackel by minutes as parts of it was filmed in Richmond, Va. The helicopter scene, the hospital, and the closing scene with the coffee stand and railroad track. Drove past it several times while they were in town filming. The closing scene (Sidney Poitier and Richard Gere) was filmed on Dock and Pear Street along the Richmond Canal.

SO glad we decided against Surface Pros for desktop replacements. Thanks MS for being too expensive, and not feature rich enough.

They're nice when they work. When they don't, they're a total pain in the arse.
Sounds like the client has a low power EMP field or something that slowly kills them. -

Slightly off topic, do you have issues with them keeping correct date/time?
Yes, we do. Have you seen the same thing?

Yes
Caused mayhem when groups of them would meet and no one could get on to the WiFi network.When we figured out what the issue was, we implemented a time sync GPO for them.

A time sync GPO, aren't they already doing that with the PDCs emulator?

We have the query our NTP server every 15 or so minutes. I think it has to do with fast boot but haven't been able to trouble shoot it.

Don't know. Their hibernation/sleep mode + Windows 8 "Fast Boot" seemed to mess with their abilities to keep correct time. Also, outbound NTP is blocked here so the default windows NTP servers are inaccessible anyway.

The only thing that should be reaching out to an external time source is a single trusted internal time server, i.e. your PDC emulator.

Should be by default.
