This is why ticketing systems are great. I put in a nice description of the dialogue the day of these discussions and can reference it later. That way if a year from now they say we never had that conversation I can go back and reference it.

why not upgrade the network connection instead?

How much is he changing that that even matters?

@Dashrender I don't think the matter is the amount of file delta. The issue as I read it was the size of the files. With some files being in the 1GB+ range.
Raw video files etc. So while folder redirection probably works just fine for everyone, he wants to be the stickler (while being on a slow network connection)

LOL I'm not reading 6 pages of replies - suffice it to say, that map in the Unifi controller is only a few steps above meaningless. If the walls are lead lined some rooms could be completely dead signal wise.
He needs to use a real wifi tool to map his signal strength. Something like ekahau.

I can't even using a backup program to try and rotate 3 USB drives to backup his Server 2012 Essentials system.
(I hope it's virtual)..

Never heard of ekahau. I'll add that to the list though.

They have a pretty decent free utility to build a heatmap of your location - you just privide a map of your network, the walk and click.
