UPS replacement batteries

Just don't upgrade your firmware or you won't be able to use 3rd party batteries.
I've used genuine and 3rd party. I write the date on them when I install them. I seem to get at least 3 years out of which ever ones I buy.

It depends on how comfortable you are with pulling the RBC apart. Once you have it opened, it's will be several 12v AGM batteries, which you can most likely even purchase locally. If you feel comfortable in pulling it apart, check your local battery store (BatteriesPlus) for the batteries don skip paying all the shipping.

I use never buy APC branded. Battery technology is not new.

While not new, there are some that are just made better than others.

That is why you buy from reputable places like batteries plus or amazon where you have the ability to return.
But, odds are, even low cost lead acid batteries are decent.

They offer free shipping which is HUGE because of the weight of some UPS batteries. Reasonably priced as well. Since we are in NY we have to pay sales tax but their free shipping offsets the tax. -

I don't mind swapping the batteries myself, at least on this one. I've opened the cartridge and it's pretty straight forward.
Local batteries cost nearly the same as from Amazon when you consider shipping, but it's local and I get them today.

Yeah, the "no sales tax" doesn't apply, you always have to pay it. It's just that companies outside of your state don't have to report it, so nobody takes it seriously.

if you get audited by your own state and have an expense that you didn't pay taxes on, they'll collect it and fine you for not paying it previously - so yeah.. don't skip it if you're a real business.
