We learned: don't use MagicJack
But Magic Mike is still okay.
-
Myths of VoIP:
- No 911
- Is not secure
- Requires dedicated Internet
- Needs special network configuration
- have to buy all new hardware (or any new hardware!)

Every VoIP PBX scales from one to tens of thousands... the traditional limitations just don't exist any longer.
-
Legacy PBX... literally forklift replacements.

FFS @Dashrender your users can't handle buttons moving!
That was a misquote - my users couldn't handle the different way parking worked in FreePBX vs Mitel. Which frankly is HUGELY different.

I wonder if next year if doing a live, full FreePBX build out would be good. Complicated, but cool.

Just tell everybody to pre-install a SoftPhone on their Mobile device if they want to actually see it work. lol.

North America means US, Canada and Mexico in the dialing context. Central America and Panama do not consider themselves a part of North America. Panama is code 507.

Vultr starting price point and RAM. You can build one heck of a PBX from that.
In the past NTG was building on 256MB without issues, but things were tight and had to be tuned carefully. At 512MB you can be pretty loose and handle some huge sizes. At 768MB that is so much overhead that you can do almost anything.

Very doable. Not horribly complicated as long as the dependencies are planned for ahead of time.

Scott suggested that we setup an Intel NUC server farm for people to use to built on site PBX test system.
I suggested that we also reach out to vulter (sp) maybe they would donate a bunch of codes for one month free, people could setup a full PBX before they go home.

I like that idea a lot. Had to be "extra", can't be without the local option #becausehotelnetworks

That sounded like a disaster. So, there was just no WiFi or what?
Seeing the build out would be pretty cool.
