I got a new job and in the process of moving to the new one which involves visa changes and passport with the government authorities for some time, plus the first project I will be on, the deadline is on July 30! So I have to cancel this year's trip!
Really wanted to make it this year. Hope to make it next year. So its a mix of both good and bad news for me! Canceling all my bookings currently.
-
@Ambarishrh Ahh, that sucks.
-
@Ambarishrh sadface
-
Oh man
-
As I said, I really wanted to meet you all, was just thinking about this last year, and was super happy to get things moving this year and booked everything, but not all went as planned.
On the brighter side, this switch is very good for me in all means. In a holding company here in UAE which has education, healthcare, properties etc under that, so from the current tech consultant covering web hosting services to more on the enterprise computing that involves SAP, O365, intune etc. So yeah, interesting and challenging phase ahead!

Advantages of MangoCon versus other conventions.
- Convention location is the same spot as the hotel.
- It's not in an isolated, once-abandoned, redone convention center that takes shuttles and maybe a private guard with the Mafia just to make sure you don't "swim with the fishes" or "get a new pair of concrete shoes".

The Pure Accelerate venue is in an abandoned warehouse that has been renovated. There is no parking, no hotels within 3 miles of it, and you have to drive through somebody else's parking lot to get to it.

WTF. That's not how you do a conference. I've heard that they were having financial problems, but had no idea it was that bad.
-
What city was that in?
-
@scottalanmiller San Francisco

That's the worst possible place for a convention!

That's where VMWorld was when I went there a few years back. It was insane. I registered late so to get between my hotel and the conference, I had to take a airport shuttle so I could take the BART train to the conference. It was 45 minutes of travel each way.

There is definitely a presence for investors here as well. A majority of the focus is for IT pros/customers whole there is a small focus to investors.

Cards are going out.
-
@JaredBusch Is there not a word for "fidget" in Japanese?
-
No wonder Toshiba is bankrupt.

President of Pure just admitted that they put it together in the "crack" side of town.
