I'm excited. This year was awesome. Looking forward to getting the content up and getting people excited about next year. Ready to see this ramp up!
-
I would love to attend this and checking on tickets already!
Me and my wife were planning for a US trip and whats more fun than combining that with MangoCon2017!
I need some advice on planning this. We would love to do a road trip as well while we are there, planning for 2 weeks. Suggestions/recommendations please

https://i.imgur.com/uY0L3S0.pngOf those, Laguardia is the best to use. JFK has the most options. Avoid Newark.
But the conference airport is Rochester (ROC)
-
As frequent fliers, @Dominica and I use JFK nearly always.
-
I dont see ROC on Skyscanner. Means if i get Laguardia, I need to fly from there to ROC?
-
Yes you will have to get a flight from Laguardia to Rochester

That's weird that it does not have ROC, it's a decently large airport.
Yes, most people would fly from NYC to ROC. It's about five hours by car. You can drive it relatively easily. You can also take the Amtrak train, but it tends to have delays and it will take a long time - but it is quite comfortable.

Just searched for ROC and found that, weird that it didn't came up on my search with the keywork NYC, checking rates now
-
And how far is the hotel location from ROC airport?

No traffic like 12 minutes from my cab ride.
-
Around $1250 per person, Qatar airways- 24hrs (Dubai-Doha-Chicago O'Hare-ROC). Need to check other options as well, as few of my friends traveled on cheaper rates than this and i am booking for next year!

Very short and they have a shuttle. Hotel is right downtown.

We don't fly from Dubai, but Turkish Air is normally pretty awesome. Not as quick since you have to go through Istanbul, but Ataturk is a great airport to deal with and the prices are normally really good.
-
Checking Turkish Air now, could you please advice on what options do we have for the road trip after MC2017?
-
Just changed the dates, wanted to start on a Friday as its a weekend, now changed to Sunday and the price dropped!
Now Turkish Air+Air Canada (DXB-IST-YYZ-ROC) $820. -

Ah okay, well that's why. Rochester is not near NYC, so that's why it wouldn't come up.
As for how to get the best airfare, you're a bit early for booking for next July. There's a great article on farecompare.com about how far ahead of time to buy airfare to get the best rate, and what days of the week to search. Clear your cache and then try searching again on a Tuesday afternoon, and you will notice the prices change. Consider setting up an airfare watch on farecompare.com to be notified when prices drop. Hope that helps!
-
Thanks a lot @Dominica this really helps, those long travels really helping you to get the best options! Will check the search on Tuesday and already set alerts on skyscanner, will add farecompare as well. So let me first book ML Coupon then.
I really need to plan our other places to visit as well, now the new dates planned is from July 23 - Aug 6. New to this 20+ hours flight so wanted to make sure i get at least a day or two before attending MC2017.
