Just bought King's Quest IV + V + VI for $2.49. Classics. My girls will love playing those!!

Watching that bar go down is fun, but good call on buying them. fell in love with 5 a while back & even got my dad addicted to it for a while. I would buy them but I know I have atleast 5 & 6 somewhere on disc, also on a backup hard drive images of the discs for easy mounting.

I own them all and have for years. I've owned several many times but having a solid collection that I can actually use rather than looking for the old disks and having DRM to contend with is worth it. I played KQ 1-3 on the Commodore Amiga in the original editions.
-
It was KQ that made me fall in love with games that told stories. King's Quest was an amazing series. I played 1-3 again around 1997. I want to play through the entire series sometime soon again.
Have you played any of the remakes from the Anonymous Game Developers? They are awesome, quite a bit better than the originals.
-
Makes sense, the only reason I had the images was for the same reason on not looking for the discs & having them easily accessible. But I did that before it became as easy as it is to find whatever games you wanted online. (legally I should add)

Broken Age available now. Looks like a great game and it is in my wishlist but it is only 40% off. I'll wait a year or two until it goes on "real" sale. I've got nearly 110 games ready to play with my kids, don't need any more in the backlog at this point. Has to be a pretty amazing deal for me to jump on it. Although for $14.99, this is probably a very good deal.

Spoken like a true gamer

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space is 90%. That's probably a really good one.
-
Wow, Alan Wake's American Nightmare for $1.99, that's super cheap!!

These are going surprisingly slowly. C'mon people, speed it up, let's see what is next.
-
Ugh, this Alan Wake pool was way too large. No one is buying now so it is stagnant.
-
What is interesting is that you can estimate how much money is being made. They had 400 copies of Alan Wake and only sold 250 so far. That is only $500 total that is passing through the site in the last hour or two. It gives you an idea of how little game purchases are actually going on. In some cases, like King's Quest, they sold their batch in minutes. But this shows the site stalling and making hardly any money. They can't pay for too much with that, it isn't like they make 100% profit, they have to pay the publishers for the games too out of that money.
-
@scottalanmiller those are probably mostly loss leaders for them. They get new people to register, people buy other non-sale games while they are there.
-
@Nic maybe but the way that the insomnia sale works it encourages you not to shop but to just wait.
-
@scottalanmiller only for those of us that are rational. Most people aren't
-
Even irrational, I think that they stare at the screen watching the count down.

Hey. I resemble that remark.
