Writing some simple powershell scripts as the human factor has been to unreliable to do the job correctly.
Time to replace the human with automation.
"Go away or I will replace you with a very small shell script!"

Exactly, I mean what I've written is 2 lines, including an import-module function and the operation. This portion has been scheduled.
I wrote two additional scripts to make sure the human still doesn't screw it up, one to check on the above status, and the other to undo the above status.
All in maybe 3 hours, mostly for discovery.

I'm assuming these are the headwinds you're encountering at the moment.

Yes - There is generally some headwind as you learn the requirements and limitations in a new environment. Even if some of those practices seem - misguided.

RHCE practice time going over handling errors. Alas, this evening saw me drawing a blank on some syntax.

I'm guessing they can't or don't know how to enforce the execution policy to remote signed for example, and are instead using actually unsecure methods to manage.

Killed one of our dell switches last night, well can't ping/access it after a OS update.
Got our MSP looking at why some ESXi servers can't see the SAN as there was a 2nd switch. Can ping everything hosts & SAN but they're just not talking. they set it up so they can fix -
