Had a customer tell me that Virtual Machines don't have disks, and thus don't ever need to have a check disk run because check disk only checks for physical disk issues...
I fell silent and then promptly informed the customer that virtual machines do have disks (called vdisks) and that check disk checks for OS issues and not just disk related issues.

Those always throw me for a loop. Great response.

LOL have him tell me that when I did a D2V and had to run diskcheck 15 times before it would finally boot..

@Dashrender right?!
I can understand where if this was a tool to check only blocks and sectors to report on health saying this. But check disk does more than "check the disk".

Learning how to create and attach a virtual disk to a VM using
virsh
or whatever better tool (mayeqemu-img

Why would you need MTR with zabbix? Just have zabbix run traceroute more often.

because i need to see packetloss and where it's happening through the MPLS.
*edit
Need a change of tactics running from Zabbix isn't giving all the hops. Looking at installing the ubuntu kernel on the endpoints machine so i can run mtr to several points and log them via a script. -

I wonder if ubiquiti will ever allow you to use their app to record video via your cellphone as if it were a ubiquiti device. it would be a nice feature.

OK I'll bite, why would you want this?

Anytime you want a dynamic camera option for security. For instance, I don't have outside cameras currently. If something happens outside of my house, I'd like the option of having a way to go outside and record what I need to. Maybe a car accident happens and my static doorbell camera isn't good enough to see the detail of what happened, or what is happening. There are a lot of reasons.

I have no idea how well or not Ubiquiti cameras can work over the internet - most people don't have great wifi in their yards, so who knows if it would work -
But if you're going to use your cellphone - why not use it's built in video recorder? I suppose if the idea is to get the video into a central place, that could be nice.

Well if you're committing a crime and you see someone recording you, what is your first instinct? To destroy the phone right? Now, I can achieve this many ways but it would be nice to be able to have it all in one place as you said.

You're recording someone committing a crime and you're worried about your video? Don't get me wrong - nice on you for trying to help the system..
but as you mentioned there are other ways to already stream that data to something else.

Why have security cameras?
