Next - Reconnect all drives, 2x SSD and 4TB Raid volume. Reinstall and see where i get
Update soonSo got it running.
Got all Storage sorted, installed 2 VM's. One untangled.
The 2nd a windows 10. On SSD Storage, 8GB RAM, 4 Cores. First impression the web console show's a lot more lag than seen with ESXi6.3.
Going to do some more playing tomorrow. Time to shut down the server and move it back into the dinning room -
Huge meetings today, about to go into the prep meeting for the big meeting.

So got a Plex VM, Win10 VM, Firewall VM on my proxmox server.
Also managed to get a Win10 VM running with GPU pass through using a AMD HD7000 for a test. Seems OK so far.
If it goes well will maybe invest in a slightly better GPU -
Researching laptops. Mine is 6 years old and is struggling. Thinking of going with Fedora or Ubuntu and having a Windows 10 VM for managing Hyper-V, etc. There are too many choices. Looking at Dell and HP. A friend is pushing me towards Lenovo but I don't think I want to take that route.

Give System76 a look. I just got a Lemur Pro to replace my old Lemur, and I'm pleased with it so far.

We don't hawk Lenovo around these parts every since SuperFish.

We manage Hyper-V from Linux, works fine.

Never liked Lenovo, not sure why really but just don't like the looks/build or the reliability.
Personally prefer Dell, then HP -
@hobbit666 I've always had a good experience with Dell and HP. My current laptop is a Probook 635 and it has given me zero problems. I did an SSD swap and maxed out the RAM, but it is just under-powered now for my needs. One feature I will miss on the newer models is the serial port. I don't use it often, but it has saved me more than a few times. I hate carrying dongles and adapters for everything.

What do you use for console access to your VMs from Linux?

a few of my customers use Email on a daily basis to communicate with us , Not a big deal right?
Well One in particular has decided that's the only way he will communicate with us.I just got an email 30 minutes ago. : ......... "oh and this is an emergency, the entire site is down."
Nope, must not be an emergency. You're emailing me rather than Calling.
Anyone else deal with people like this?

On a daily basis. I've tried to explain 911's require a phone call as I am not constantly in email, at my desk, or have a communication device directly in my hand or driving.
Mostly goes in one ear and out the other, or should I say "eye" for that matter.
