getting finished up with some small stuff around the office in preparation with my Trip.
TO where are you headed?
His training for their new POS solution, if I recall - Cali somewhere - might be wrong on that bit
Cali is correct

I'd sooner go and purchase what is needed.

@DustinB3403 What kind of mics and what kind of connectors? The only "new" mic tech is having a USB connection, the rest have been XLR or 1/4" since the 1940s.

There are mini-XLRs too with 3, 4 and 5 pins as well as the small 3.5mm phono connectors. Unfortunately. Probably others too.

Yes, but those are subsets of XLR and 1/4 inch. 5 pin mini XLR is either a stereo mic or a DMX lighting connector (carries control signals, not audio). Adapters for those are easy to find.

Yes, I know. I just saying there are many opportunities to have connectors that don't fit.

True. But I wouldn't expect to see overly odd connectors in an office setting. Worst case ontario would be that mini 4 pin on a headset. Or having a mono 3.5mm plug and a stereo port (or vice-versa). Personally, I say "impedance be damned!!!" If I can get a string of adapters, then I'm plugging this in here.
-
@RojoLoco Ontario truly is the worst case.

Thanks @BRRABill for hooking me up with a rack
I see from your Risk 2210 that you are a man of consequence and refined taste.

@RojoLoco We have Shure PG1 and shure ulx1 g3 units that we would want to incorporate together.
The units that these would connect to, don't have the same ports as the wireless mic amp we have from shure. We made it work with what we had, which was 1 G3 and a handheld.

So the issue is with the wireless receiver outputs? I can only assume that's what you mean by "wireless mic amp".
Transmitters send through the air, receiver takes that signal and outputs via cable to mixer/amp/speakers. Which one has the mismatched plugs? If you can post a pic that would help too.
-
@RojoLoco I mentioned two body packs, if those are the transmiters (the things with Mics) those aren't directly the culprit. The receiver for the PG1's seems to be the issue as they don't align with the other equipment.
The goal would be to go from the 2 usable mics at a time that we have currently to 4 usable mics (all wireless) with 2 lapel (or over the ear) and 2 handheld.

You have to be sure the frequency ranges match. I think Shure uses letter codes. And the receiver need to be 4 channel (each will have it's own output to the mixer). If the body packs are all within the same range, maybe a new receiver would fix it. If the transmitters are in different ranges, maybe you can take them back to swap for the right frequency. Or add a 2nd receiver (2 channel) that works with 2 of the transmitters.
-
@DustinB3403 or you could easily get a 2 handheld kit in a different range, that would add 2 to the existing setup.
-
So @RojoLoco and @DustinB3403 what are the chances that this conversation will materialize into a dave matthews cover band?
-
@wirestyle22 the only thing I'd cover Dave Matthews with would be a weighted blanket while he was swimming...
