Reviewing a Unifi quote our church got from one of the local "VAR"'s. Their quote includes a CloudKey Gen 2 for "switch controller". Does one actually need the CloudKey Gen 2 for their switches? I thought I could just run it on Vultr like I do for my AP's at home

anyone ever seen
"windows out of virtual memory" errors?Check the Page File settings and see if it's set to a hard limit. If this is an older OS, that may very well be the case.
Found it, They are set to "no Page file "

@siringo doing email clean up here this morning, too.

Probably not a good idea. There is a reason that you normally have one.

You definitely don't need it, you absolutely can and should run it on something like Vultr. CloudKey is a toy for non-production systems.

Two mistakes there... local and VAR. Both to be avoided. Both detract from the value of the purchase. You get your best deal by looking for best over local, and reseller over VAR because any VAR overhead literally removes value from the deal. Even if they could match the price, they aren't the better value in a case like this.

Apparently it takes me getting in there and figuring it out.
The next step for them is to "buy new equipment" according to the tickets from the other tech here.
and I told my boss i Found the issue and he said "we already looked at those settings.."
So i screen shoted it, and sent it to him to show him what I found. -
@scottalanmiller oh yeah I know, a member of the church contacted "a friend" for some info and I didn't know abut it until the board presedent asked me to look at it. Little bit of politics you could say. I have it running in Vultr already for my home ap's and going to move the church's over to it hopefully once the dust settles so to speak.

Yeah, no need for a cloud key. All cloudkeys are is a computer running the controller software, so either do it yourself, or use an existing one (multiple sites works great.)

got to upgrade 2 x PCs that run medical software. I got 2 x new PCs. Advised by software company that they will not install software onto new PCs as they are not Dells and the software is certified to only run on Dells.
Look up price of Dells.
Price = more than twice of comparable other name brand PCs. -
Checking out a local pizza spot for the first time.
They serve Peroni by the tap!
Hoping the food is as good as the beer! -

0 mb Allowed ;2 Minimum; Recommended was like 3205 mbAs a general rule of thumb, I always hard set the page file to 2 x the RAM in the system up to a page file of 4gb. Anything larger than that has always seemed wasteful and chokes the system if you're actually needing to use a lot of the swap.

Coffee will help me forget, Right? If your goal is to grow, Coffee will not help you to forget. Growing often requires making mistakes... Coffee will, however, enable you to make more mistakes faster... so drinking coffee is still a plus!
