writing up recommendations for the Windows 7 end of life. what do you do with PCs that have never given you a second of trouble, are 3-4 years old, but run Windows 7?
I make more money by recommending new PCs and the industry says replace at 3-5 years...
I am the worlds worst salesman.

So random these people requesting account deletions. Why the heck would anyone ever want an account deleted that is free? And who comes back two years after leaving a place to do so? So weird.
I understand why you don't get it - you don't consider the desire to not be known in the world.

Interesting. I guess I would ask myself - Am I a consultant - i.e. THE IT department for the company - or am I a VAR?
If your primary relationship with the company is to be their IT department - then you propose the most financially sensible solution from the company's POV. If you are a VAR, then you could go completely the other way - though, if you value them as a customer, you might be a bit more moderate and find a medium place.

As the IT department - I would keep the current PCs - even look at replacing all drives with SSDs (so cheap these days) and RAM (if needed). It's likely you could get another 3-4 years out of those machines.

Very basic question(s) if it needs a deeper dive into it i'll start a new discussion.
I what to monitor the traffic on our network. What's talking to what and bandwidth used etc.
Our MPLS has this
So from here i can see PC1 is talking to Windows Update servers
(ok not a lot of bandwidth on this site but i do see some site using 20-30Mbs just to MS Updates) anyway.....The question is can this be done on the LAN level, so i can see what traffic is flowing from PC to Server and WAN etc.
I think it's NetFlow/sFlow but do i need specific "Switches/Routers" to do that? Or should all switched give off this info? Can it be done with just Zabbix and SNMP data?
(I know zabbix points you to H5Audits, but this is a more general question) -

The better question is why are 3-4 year old computers running Windows 7?
