What Are You Doing Right Now
-
It's one of the key movies that was used as the foundation for the parody "Not Another Teen Movie".

@scottalanmiller no idea what movie that is, but now I feel a sudden urge to crack that guy in the throat with a cricket bat.
That's a REALLY famous movie. "Bring It On"
And that single frame makes me glad I never saw it.

Bring It On is actually good. If you like campy teen movies. It's by far one of the best. The sequels are ridiculous, of course. But the original had a stellar cast and was a pretty important industry influencer (hence inclusion in NATM which itself was the foundation of a genre.)
-
@LilAng bring it on < legally blonde < mean girls
-
Both BIO and NATM ended up being career makers for a lot of people. Very few started in either, but several broke out from them.

@scottalanmiller I'm pretty sure this discussion ends at "mean girls"
-
@valentina But not another teen movie is HILARIOUS

And those parodies are hilarious, but when the subject of a parody is so utterly lacking depth, the viewer can absorb the original film's message by only watching the parody. It's much easier on the viewer's constitution.
