More printer issues this morning.
Printers are the bane of my job.
SMBv2/v3 on Windows is apparently mine. . . there are known issues on all sides (from Apple to Windows) of constant file locks for no "known" reason.
I saw your other thread. It didn't mention anything about Macs. I have had that problem for years. I was considering the Acronis software.
Yeah I was just asking generally (thanks for responding. . . ) Short of going back to CIFS what options do we really have. . ?

That's new. I could have sworn it was server based.

So what this solution does is provide me a license to use AFP on my windows server, based on the number of clients that might connect to the server. . .
I'd might as well just use Apple Server in that case. . .

Client based licensing, yes. Server side solution.

How many Macs in your environment?

Macs don't prefer AFP, Macs are SMB based. AFP is for... who knows what.

Enough to force us to have to look at the ∞ pricing if we wanted to go down that route.

You sure it isn't the well known reason? How does the locking happen?

It very well could be, the bulk of our issues come from Apple systems not windows ones (~15K file locks etc) but we've been seeing some Windows systems with <1000 files open as well recently.

I am getting a problem with iOS devices accepting meeting invites (Office 365) and sending tons of duplicate acceptance notifications to other attendees. I had this before, but it may have been resolved after I told the user to update their devices. This time it is with the CEO.
1 out of the 3 people had an iOS update available in this instance. I hope that solves it.

Are they using the built in mail client on the iOS device? If so force them to use Outlook as the built in client causes this issue.
-
@dustinb3403 - Yes they are. The problem with that is they like the built-in client. Also, I am almost certain Meraki MDM can't push out their configs to the Outlook app.
