Trying to move some machines from XenServer to Hyper-V
We are scheduled to move a company from Hyper-V to KVM next week.
Moving over to CentOS/KVM, Fedora/KVM or Scale?
Fedora/KVM

@scottalanmiller Think my issue is more not understanding Linux too much.
I've exported the VM from XEN in a few ways, also tried a few converters but Linux fails to boot

Not much Linux involved in these processes. The way we do it, a little because we can. But knowing Linux shouldn't really affect you.
-
Also, when possible, we try to avoid exports. Often it is needed, but when possible we want to do fresh builds, from state if possible.

Just got back in from on site/ breakfast.
-
Need to go make some coffee. No one here to make any for me.

Fedora/KVM
When you set up Fedora to be a hypervisor host, do you use Fedora Server Edition as the base environment and then select Headless Virtualization from the add-ons for that base environment?

This is the first of a set of new rollouts. We've been waiting a long time to start migrating customers off of random other things and we've got nearly all major customers ready for a migration sometime this year. So we'll be developing a standard in the coming weeks. I'm likely going up to New York myself to oversee some of it.
But that's likely how we'll be starting.
-
We're hoping to be able to leverage Cockpit heavily, make support teams have an easier time than working purely from the CLI.

Slept 12 hours last night. Still woke up feeling exhausted. Sometimes I think my body is just giving up on life lol.
It's definitely Friday.
I'm not sure I've gotten that much sleep in a single night in a decade. I only get 8+ a couple times a year.
Usually I get about six. 1am to 7am. Which might explain why I felt so off this morning lol

At some point all that sleep is just not good for you
-
I'll sleep when I'm dead... or my body demands it. Otherwise, I just lay in the bed wide stinkin' awake. If I'm not sleeping, at least I can be productive or do something I want to do.

Can unifi be installed on Fedora? or is it still Debian based

Can? Yes. But they only use Debian themselves. So Debian or Ubuntu recommended. If you go for Fedora, you are in for "do it yourself, it's not supported" territory problems.

This is one of the reasons I tell folks who are interested in linux to spend time with a few of the major distros so they can be comfortable with using whatever distro matches a product they want to try.
