Speaking of IKEA, Rochester is supposed to be getting an IKEA store.
Which is fucking exciting.
How the hell do you get one, and Omaha doesn't. How many people there?
You've got a local chain with unlimited clout to make sure competition doesn't enter your market.
you talking about Nebraska furniture mart?
Yeah
I guess I shouldn't surprised. NFM is not really that close to Ikea from what I can tell. but I've never been inside an Ikea.
Well no, IKEA has high quality stuff at great prices with amazing customer service.
oO
They stopped providing us with LACK-racks years ago. Today's LACK tables are built using honeycomb structures in the table's legs. Not so great for screws to fasten switches.

oh.. why not? Why not?
I've had great customer service with one exception - I think that was an individual person issue, not a company one.
I've been very happy with the furniture I've purchased from there.Only thing I know if them is you getting scammed by them. I had predicted that they were going to rip you off and they did. Pretty horrific. Can’t believe you’d ever go back.

IKEA are the best. Incredibly quality and selection at insanely low prices. Nothing really compares.

We talked about them one time. You had tried to buy a television there. They promised some amazing sale that no one could touch. I thought it sounded like a scam (and given who their investors were, I was sure it must be.) You got your television there and then found out that it was cheaper everywhere else and their whole "sale" had been a bit of a scam. Then they didn't even deliver the television at all, but just tried to keep your money and you on the line while they waited for stock to come in, while the same television elsewhere was cheaper and available immediately.

No, you misremember that situation.
I bought the TV during their "super OMG stock holders awesome price" time. And compared to other stores (including online) it was a few hundred dollar savings. Only caveat, the TV was out of stock. - Fine I wasn't in an huge hurry. Only drawback, delivery was within a week of when I was leaving the country for 3 weeks, meaning I'd be giving up 75% of my return window if there was any issue.
While waiting, all TVs took a nose dive in price, including the one I purchased. First the store itself put the TV on sale for $200 less than I paid for it. I call them and they instantly refunded that amount. Then two weeks later, another vendor put the TV on sale for $300 below that sales price. Again called NFM, they near instantly refunded (need to confirm the other place both had stock and was the same model number).
Then the TV arrived - I told them I was delaying delivery until I returned from my trip. They said fine, 4 weeks later I got home and picked up my TV.Yes sure they promised some great price up front (which it was compared to other purchase options), but as is my typical luck, it just went on sale even more discounted, but I too got all of those sales.
I don't feel slighted at all. -

Because Omaha. . . lol
We have Buffalo up here and Syracuse as well, which will get more people to drive to Rochester.
Yeah, Rochester is bigger and richer than Omaha. And Omaha is isolated, but Rochester has a larger metro just one hour away on one side, and a smaller metro less than two hours away on the other. It's actually a really smart location. Will service about 3.5 million people
St. Louis has had one for a couple of years now. It too has about 3.5 Million people in the entire metropolitan area and they placed it almost dead center in the area so anyone can get to it easily. My wife is from Omaha, and I totally get why you guys don't have one. Your population is so small but yet I have never seen sprawl like I have in Omaha, it is endless suburbs. It is so damn depressing. You have a problem when someone from St. Louis, MO tells you that your town is depressing.

Depressing? compared to some of the slums in the St Louis area, I think we're doing pretty well.
Sure, we only have 1 million people here, not 3. Heck, we only have 1.9 million in the state.
Why would you want to be stacked on top of each other? That sounds depressing!

I actually like mornings. Time to work while things are still quiet.
