We are doing Net Metering so there's no local battery storage or going off grid just "spin the meter backward" when our solar generation exceeds our usage.
Keep your eye to the legal realm to know if and when net meetering will get shut down in NY.

Wrapped our AC ductwork in a fleece blanket today that I taped into place. That appears to have dramatically improved the efficiency of our air conditioning!
Amazing what a little insulation can do....
We had maybe 2" of insulation in our house when I bought it. Blew in a ton of cellulose insulation. Amazed at the difference.

I added over 110 bags of insulation to the attic, our bill went from (on a plan mind you) from $300 to $150.
That's a huge savings. I'd love to insulate the walls as well, but she's fighting me on that. . .

I really hope to do all of that soon. Although we are talking about changing the roof line, so a lot of work will be needed.

That's another conversation we've been having as well, but we wouldn't be changing a portion of the roof that get insulation. Just adding garage space.

We want to add whole new roof parts, like over an open space that we currently have.

Charging up the Roomba so that we can do a deep clean on the kids' new room before moving them in there.

Just woke up from a nap. How is it after 7pm already?

We are busily setting up our home for the post-roommate world. It's a bit like we are moving into a new apartment, suddenly we are unpacking and putting things where we want them. It doesn't exactly feel like our own house at all.

Just as @scottalanmiller gets reasonable connectivity, I am sitting here without Internet. Thanks lightning bolt.

One of our big hauls from our storage unit in NY was another big load of our artwork. So we are getting the walls decorated around this place.
