And the power just came on.
Do we know what caused the outage (storms or something else) ?
Roommates.
Did they decided to turn off the breaker to the house?
JUst didn't pay the bill, which seems to be a monthly thing. We've not been back very long and this is the second or third power outage from not paying the bill.
You're back now - why is she paying the bill?
Hasn't she heard of autopay?
Because I pay the mortgage.

ClearOS is crap.
-
Pushing ClearOS in a box for $350. Can still build a vultr server with CentOS for $5/month and still get better performance than this.
-
@nerdydad Years ago, I loved the project and had actually installed ClearOS systems in more than a few SMB to act as their routers and content filters, etc.
This was all ClearOS 4.X and ClearOS 5.X
It was based on CentOS and simply had extra packages and repos along with their Web GUI for configuration of all the services.
They reworked the entire thing to attempt to monetize for ClearOS 6 and it sucked.

Man, those triumphant moments when you're a kid playing a sport. I miss soccer

I just don't find that type of thing impressive. I guess it's cool?

It's not really about it being impressive IMO. It's just this kid trying to do something that benefits his friends and everyone crowding around him in his moment of success. It's nostalgic because I was on a travelling team for soccer for years and had moments like this

So I actually had a meeting with a doctor's office today about their IT where they really seemed to understand the IT and the business side of things, understood what good looked like, seemed to know IT better than most IT people I see in some communities... it was refreshing. They seemed to really know when vendors were out to fleece them, knew that just because stuff was out there to buy didn't mean that they had to buy it, understand cost savings, are concerned about security, had good questions ready to go. It was great.
-
@scottalanmiller surprising... wait until you tell them what they need to invest in security....
