With the exception of the last 10 minutes doing guild tasks on Project 1999, I've spent all evening messing with vultr, voip.ms, freepbx, and my Cisco ASA -- at least I'm loving my System76 laptop.
You have a phone? I have 2 or 3 old Yealink T38G if you want one. Though you could probably pick some up on ebay about the same.
Yup, just looked. Couple for cheap, but only maybe work.
This T21 looks solid for $20

But as I poke around with this, I do think it will probably be wise to hire a Jared for advice about the initial implementation when the time comes. I figure if I can get this to work at home, then there's a decent chance I'll be able to support it at work.
Well you can decide that after MangoCon if you come. As I will be doing some detailed dives on a few parts of the process.
But yeah, a few hours of consulting before, just to know you go the right way can save a ton of rework.
FreePBX is hard to fuck up totally. But you can certainly sink a lot of time getting it working good also.

@JaredBusch I definitely read the tone wrong. I thought it was "FFS dude! Sit down before you hurt yourself!" since VoIP is your domain
I wouldn't call it my domain, just something I got good at as it pertains to the business needs.

The new reply drop downs are really nice.

You mean the reply as topic option?

I hope that is CGI'd even if it's a super friendly dog, it would be bad if it attacked.

And pitbulls are some of the best dogs in the world (when cared for like they should be). Doesn't mean they won't bite.

They are also stubborn and strong-willed where as great danes are not (typically. I'm sure there are exceptions)

Hands down I would have a pitbull, awesome dogs. Super loyal and super lovable.
But they, like any dog need to be treated with love and care. It's the asshats of the world who beat / starve / train the dogs to be aggressive that gives them a bad rap.

Pit bulls are great dogs. As far as I'm concerned all dogs are great dogs

Any dog can bite at a moments notice. Even my 20 lb dog could bite if she wanted to.

Got to know your animal -- and even then, accidents still happen! My last dog had never purposefully bitten anyone that wasn't trying to break into the house. But scared my mom and young (3 year old) cousin half to death one day. My cousin just laid on him just a little bit and he woofed and snapped at her (stopping an inch short of her nose). We were fortunate that day.
Edit: That's the cleft notes version of the story, lol.

We have two Golden Retrievers. One of them gets very cranky very easily so Emilia is learning not to get near him when he growls. The other one is the most lovable overweight Golden, Emilia will literally take toys out of her mouth and she'll just sit there and look sad.
