At my last place, we had Avast for Business that was centrally managed. It actually ran quite nicely.

@scottalanmiller It's something I've wanted to bring up for a while.

Specifically I have a user with something that Windows Defender apparently cannot remove. Since I don't have any other removal tools to try (and this person is in another state, so nuke and start over isn't an option right now), I'm having to go through process monitor to try to see what's writing to the directory that Windows Defender doesn't like in order to try to figure out what the offending program is -- and try to remove it.

Install the trial version of MBAM and see if it can get rid of it?

That's my last resort. I don't like the idea of (assuming the EULA of the trial prohibits use for production work) using a trial as a free one-off tool, as this problem will occur again and with other users.

Good point. Guess I should read the EULA next time I need it, lol. What bug is it that Windows Defender won't get rid of?

            Windows. . . . which is a pretty big bug. . .

From what I'm seeing it looks like some Chromium-like thing, going through the process monitor now.

Heading out for my daily walk.

I'd love to walk but someone starting shooting at cops yesterday on center street (2 mins away from me) and is currently holding a hostages.

                This logic is all wrong.

Why would this mean you cannot walk. The area has more policed coverage now than normal.

The known shooter is not running around, they are contained with hostages.

                Don't make excuses.

There is a war going on with the police in this area in general. My co-workers won't walk to lunch when it's nice out. It's a bad area (apparently). @BRRABill would know.

The US has a coding system so that people know where is nice and where is dangerous. There is a total avoid code, NJ.

Hey 🙂 What's wrong with NJ? My state...

DNF on Fedora 25... okay then.

What's the current status? Are they separate still, or is DNF finished and renamed to YUM yet?

I like how the change in political climate has made it seem literate to add single capitalized words after a sentence. Example: I had some food in the middle of the day. LUNCH!

Lol. There should be a minimum age of 8 required to post on SW imo.

I like how the change in political climate has made it seem literate to add single capitalized words after a sentence. Example: I had some food in the middle of the day. LUNCH!

Haven't paid that much attention to that part and usually skip over it... now I can't unsee it everywhere. CRAZYNESS!

Edit: Okay, I can't keep that there... I can't stand it.
