New meaning to the term
Ants in your pantsAbout the leave the house. after Hospital Salad, I took my relief time to run to the house for a few things while my wife sat watch. Difficult to believe that I had not been home since Saturday...
Been a long day,.. I really don't feel like going through it,.. but it was one round of people after another all day. Which meant it was difficult to say the least to keep up with the things on ML much less NTG.
Feeling the effects of two days with short term sleep... I awoke late afternoon to the IV pump complaining about air in the line, and a student nurse delivering antiseptic scrubs...
I'm where I need to be, bed side to my son, but I miss being at home,... and I miss his laugh and smile. Looking forward to getting him home, but not sure when that will be. He's still in a good deal of pain - which he doesn't understand. And being so young - he feels that he did something wrong and maybe (interruption here) this is his punishment.
Which I would trade places with him in a ten-thousandth of a second... if I could.
Okay... wrapping up to head back.

After 3pm no more sitting at our desks. For on call we have a respond to a client in 30 minutes (instead of our normal 15 minutes or less) and no more answering the phones just checking voicemails.

30 minutes? Its the Holiday. You woke me from my food coma, I will need a bit more time.

in a way I am on day AND night shift... I am working both nights and days in a way... Nights are by the hour,... days... well..
But - I am thrilled to be able to take care of my son here in the hospital and still work. Thanks @Minion-Queen and NTG-

You need some cold brewed coffee. Caffeine extraction is related to time, not heat or pressure, so a 6-8 day soak in cold water gets nearly every bit of caffeine out of the beans. Stuff is like jet fuel with a little meth sprinkled on top. And it tastes amazing.
