@thanksajdotcom Free smoking if you walk outside anywhere in central or north GA, lol.
I would never move to GA. And I'm not sure what you mean by that but we can smoke outside in NY pretty much anywhere.

At the moment, smoking is cheaper in parts of Georgia. It's not tobacco or weed... But plenty of brush fires going, ha ha.

ML traffic is heating up. It was a pretty normal day but the last few hours are seeing more than usual traffic.

@scottalanmiller coordinated with SW going down? Wonder if that thread is generating your hits

But it's also a lesson in reasons to have a backup ISP, even at the level of the Level 3 folks.

Yes, there is no level at which you can get away from redundancy ISPs.

Nothing that is Century Link can be that high level. We spoke to them at Spiceworld a few years ago. Not competent people at all. They tried to recruit me too, and that was pretty embarrassing for them, as well. I've never had an interaction with them where they seemed like a viable company.

I'm sure, with SW down people need something to read.

Century Link tried to recruit you? That would've been an interesting conversation to watch. At least it wasn't Time Warner Cable.

They didn't even admit it for a while. They started by reaching out because I knew of someone that went to them from the hedge fund that I had been at. Then they kept trying to convince me that they were an okay company. Then out of nowhere they asked for my resume to continue the conversation. It was really weird. Like they couldn't respond to my concerns about them being a good company without my resume?
Once I busted them for trying to recruit me, they stopped responding. I have no idea what they were playing at. Morons.

This is a good thing... But everybody needs a second ISP... Hopefully one that doesn't depend on L3, lol.

Yes, the basics for an enterprise datacenter is redundancy for the core services like power and internet.

Photo taken today by a friend of my girlfriend (yes, someone she knows personally). This person was standing, today, 11/22/2016 (or 22/11/2016 for my international friends), in front of the UN building...it has begun.

@thanksajdotcom I saw a video of people shouting "heil trump" - instantly felt sick. Why can't humanity learn from it's mistakes.

Because as my sixteen year old niece said literally this morning.... history is stupid and it's wrong to teach it.
