What Are You Doing Right Now

YOu always need your own firewall. But that's separate from the bridge (modem.)
There isn't a modem, per se, with FiOS.
In my house (as in most I have seen) it comes in to this box as COAX.
The box (router) does wireless, hard wired, and runs the cable boxes.

Because with cable internet, the gear that they lease or sell you is overpriced crap.
But they don't sell or lease anything with FiOS.
Which is why I inquired about that equipment. Fiber is supposedly "on the way", so I was wondering about the equipment deal... like should I be watching for a sale price on anything in particular.
Such as? I just use the Ubiquiti.
I meant the modem side. I use a Motorola Surfboard instead of the BS from comcrap. I didn't realize that fiber was just an ethernet handoff, that negates my question kinda. I have all the firewall/router stuff to connect to the handoff.

But that isn't always true.
Are you just getting Internet? Then it might be true.

10 hours until the conference, or it took 10 hours for the meeting?

That's a LONG time for everyone to not be working.

Of course... never bundle things with your iSP!
That and I've never paid for television.

Just internet, no TV. I'm a cordcutter... Kodi is my best friend.

Then you can probably just get an ethernet drop like we have here at work.
They'll run it into a box in your house, and then the ethernet from there.

Hehe. Still running Kodi on a Pi2 here. My dad got a setup where we deployed 2 kodis on Pi2's as frontends with a shared database on a DIY NAS. Works great. I'm currently looking for a more powerful board with at least 1GBit/s ethernet and maybe USB 3. The Pi is a bit weak here, because ethernet is connected via USB 2.0.
