Ugh... our hosted spam filter is down... their entire domain is unreachable. but I guess that's what we get for using some podunk Alabama spam service.
I'm going to go with.... yeah, podunk Alabama spam service sounds like a bad idea.
I would agree, but the bosses here have a soft spot for nostalgia... they were originally based in Huntsville. I will be finding other alternatives today.
I use appriver. There hasn't been a blip in over 13 years.
Our service is now back up. Their tech support said there was a cut fiber somewhere on their site, so I guess they spliced it in record time.
Magic!

Restoring a VM that became corrupted at the Application level, while explaining to people the difference between Platform HA and Application HA.
And how the two are extremely different, and supported.
Both of which we have, but are on different systems.
F***!

I think my previous comment applies to this post as well.

And a lighter to fuse the fiber together.

Totally... because that's how they fix fiber in Alabama.

Office365 mail is down for all intents and purposes at the moment for us. Some users are getting delivery but the vast majority are not.

Hmmm, one of my signups this morning sent no e-mail.
Perhaps that is why.

2 of the three. I don't have much beer, and it will most likely be burgers and dogs.

Despite what everyone is always claiming, very few people actually celebrate by wildly shooting guns. I may take a 50 pack to the range during the day, but that's just because I need to keep in practice. Part of that whole being responsible for the things you own thing.

They let you drink on the range in such quantity?

The VM is back up and running, the import into XS is taking it's sweet time.
I booted the original VM (3months old) on the Hyper-V server it originated on. Got logged in as the local admin (had to get the password from our MSP) and rejoined it to the domain.
Mounted our backups from last night (file level) and restored the files that were needed.
Edit: Had to explain to boss what HA means at the Hypervisor level. And that Application level Backups aren't managed via XS.

Just found a promotional post on SW frmo 2013 because someone else posted a promo on a necro. It's gone now. Cleaning them up whenI find them, though better three years late than never.
