Debating if I finally want to tackle the unpleasantness of contacting FIOS to haggle for lower pricing, or just switch to XFINITY.

Never move from FIOS. I tried it.

I really, really, really despise Comcast.
I've actually been paying a considerable amount more just to not move to Comcast. But they just raised my rates AGAIN.
Priced out XFINITY and it's $75ish a month cheaper plus a $500 gift card.

I was using XFINITY recently. I had 4-5 issues a month. I'd rather have 99% uptime 150 up / 150 down and spend the money than a variable connection.

I know, I know.
Thanks for talking me off the ledge.
OK, time to get good and angry and call customer retention.

The only thing that sucks about FIOS is that you really can't threaten to leave because no one offers what they offer.

Setting up my iPad Air finally.

In NYC, CableVision is even better.

VGA? What year is this?
The year is 2079. Trump's nuclear winter has almost ended.

That winter went by pretty quickly...

How so?
Lower cost, faster speeds, really excellent customer service. Having had FiOS and Cablevision, I find CableVision a little better. FiOS is great, not complaining. But when I have the option of both (and I sometimes do) I pick Cablevision.

I'm heading into the office around 4PM. Not often that I get to say that.

How many ports? I've used two port IOGear ones that worked a treat and were pretty cheap. Green and grey plastic jobby with all the cables integrated.

What's with all the necro-threads today?

We have a 4 port IO Gear (like you described) that has been rock solid for years. And we have a couple of 4 port Belkin ones that have been reliable as well. Cheap-os, like from Office Depot or whatever.
