So we just got our new AT&T (yuck) 300/300 fiber circuit installed... and the dumbass tech wrote out the wireless password incorrectly for me. He very distinctly put upper and lower case letters (all were actually lower case), plus his 'q' looked like a 'g', the 'S' looked like a '5', etc. Had to go remove the modem from the wall to get the correct info from it. All sorted now, but jeez...
If not to much trouble,.. go photograph it. Get that and the MAC address.
Oh, I went and got all the codes and numbers off the device... except the MAC address (d'oh!). Oh yeah, check out this lovely speed test result...
I hate you....

@DustinB3403 you should see the one from our datacenter / colocation... 1Gbps up/down. Gets every bit of it, too. #schwing

Just booked my flights for MangoCon!

Starting to try to learn Electron. I'm terrible with Javascript so it will help with that also. I made an awesome app that repeats my name below the text box.

I think that's the end goal anyway heheh

@MattSpeller possible but drinking whiskey from a can? How undignified.
You might as well be drinking Vodka Cruisers (sugar, food colouring, flavouring and spit from a drunk Russian). -
Had a fun evening of Bookworm Adventures with @dominica. Played easily three or more hours together on it! We completed the first "book" in the game.

Just got in...finally got my wish of snow! And it's made me realise 2 things:
- I REALLY miss my Toyota surf
- The UK population needs to learn how to drive in the snow...at one point stuck behind a BMW X5 going 10mph in a 30 zone, no traffic in front, flat ground, no incline...and crawling along...

Reinstalling Zabbix on CentOS7 at a remote site.

Just started our Squid server

I'm coping drivers from a DVD to a damned USB....
4 GB of drivers... like wtf...
-
@DustinB3403
ick..To keep from having to 'extract' or burn a Office DVD,.. i just mount the ISO and share it yea,. it drops the share,.. but I only need it every so often. so no real need to keep it a live drive.

I'm testing out using Duplicity to backup my Linux VMs to an NFS server. It's not a bare metal recovery, but what's so hard about installing Linux and copying a few files back into place?
(plus it's easier than some of the other ones to set up!) -
Waiting around to get on a WebEx with a customer - they are having trouble transferring thousands of files via FTP using IE.... imagine that. I have to wait around and hold their hand through an install of filezilla (which I have been recommending for months, to solve these customer FTP issues). Then it's weekend time!

Shocking.
Right? But at least management has allowed me to put filezilla on the customer end. They were thinking that would cause us more issues to support instead of less. I've been able to demonstrate that IE was the issue every time....
