Hell yes! You will likely enjoy the benefits of it several fold compared to the competition.
Several fold? I haven't found that to be the case. Other than not paying the $600 essentials license, and $125/yr for new versions, XenServer hasn't been OMG I can't believe I didn't move before.
Now, if I had been on Hyper-V this whole time.. yeah I'd be happy as a pig in sh*t, single pain to control, see everything, just like VMWare - yes please!
Oh you're just sour..

LOL - don't get me wrong - XenServer is fine - I've had no problems with it since I stood it up 2 weeks ago.
In fact I'm configuring a production server in it right now.
and if you have already spent the $600 on Essentials - I don't really see a reason to change (especially if your backups work directly at the VM level and don't support an agent).
But if you're standing up something new - yeah, you should definitely check out XS.
-
XenServer installed. How do I connect to it?
-
You'll need XenCenter to get started, open a web browser from your system and enter the IP address of the XS server to download the client.
-
Connected to host with XenCenter. I have an ISO on my laptop I want to use to create a VM. I dont see an option to browse my local drive. Am I missing something?
-
You need to create an ISO repository, then you can access it, and create VM's.

And the clouds parted, the sun shone and the angels sang.

No local drives. Just share out a folder from your local machine for now and throw the ISO in there. Works just fine. Once you are in production you'll want a little NFS NAS for that. But it's for install ISOs so anything is just fine.

Was just writing a blog entry and realized that I lived in a full DOZEN places during my 30s. Eleven unique ones, one I moved "back" to four years after having left it. A DOZEN!!
-
I thought four places in two years was bad
-
I might get one of these instead of the Raspberry Pi 3

Whoa never mind. Shipping is $16.
-
I wish that someone would make something that is nearly the Raspberry Pi but with a Tegra X1 and 4GB of RAM.

So I called the company I was supposed to start with yesterday to let them know I won't be taking the job and starting on Monday. The HR lady didn't answer, so I left a voicemail and explained everything. I haven't heard anything from her yet. Would an email suffice tomorrow morning, or do I need to call again?
It seems like there are a couple possibilities here. 1. She's not in this week or the last couple days (but you would think she would change her voicemail to show that). 2. She was sick and hasn't got it yet. 3. She's mad that I backed out and just didn't return my call (this may seem ridiculous but it's a small company and she seemed like she would take that kind of thing personally).
I just don't want to be unprofessional about it.
