@scottalanmiller Just saw the original post was from December 20th... I wonder why it popped to the top of my SW feed.

Sometimes people just don't know any better. If, after being educated, they are argumentative or whatever, well you can't help them.
Though sometimes I feel like some of the attitude here doesn't need to be as black and white as it is. Like your business will die if you use QuickBooks.

You should come to my office. Someone just made popcorn, and I have plenty of chairs.
It usually sucks being next to the ktichen, and 99% of the time being next to the Men's Room.

Sure, lots of people make mistakes. And by lots, everyone. It's the reaction to it that is the concern. He was made for getting helped. People who made the same mistake were mad that we didn't just congratulate him. He deleted the post, I'm guessing he's scared his company will find out what he's been doing and look into it for incompetence or worse - kickbacks.

As I told you, when I first came here, I'd go hoe and be like "these guys don't know what they are talking about" or "they doesn't apply to me" ... but the more I thought about it, and the more I investigated, the more I realized ... hey most of the time, they are right.
It's a shift in thinking for most people.
Hey I just set up this AWESOME RAID 5 array. That's awesome because it's what IT people do. What's that? No, that can't be right. ALl I have ever heard ever is RAID 5 is awesome.
I still have a small grain of salt in everything. I don't believe Linux is a suitable desktop replacement for the masses for example. And I still think SEDs on laptops is a good thing. And I tried iCloud, and it blows. But it doesn't mean I can't have a reasonable conversation about anything and leave either being better educated, or at least thinking about things from a different perspective.
If you walk into anyplace and think your opion is the only one, you are going to be in for trouble.

I made plenty of these "vendor for advice" mistakes in the past before I became involved in the forums. Most notably in my career was a Sales Company disguised as an MSP (MSP is a Cisco/VmWare reseller) and now I have a Cisco Phone System which was expensive and hard to maintain.
I'm looking at options to replace it currently, most likely freePBX need to turn up a test VM and see about getting the Cisco phones working with it.

That thread is getting a lot of love, was not expecting that!

I don't think @MattSpeller was expecting that either... lol

So Juju is pretty cool. I hadn't really used it before, just heard what it was for. I created a mediawiki server by clicking my mouse and dragging it to the canvas. That was it. Same with elasticsearch and kibana containers, and you can tie them together just by drawing a line between them.
-
Weird, I need to try that out.

Pleasantly surprised.
I think SW could use a forum expectations / community guidelines kinda thing.
Expect to have your ideas challenged in a professional manner and strive to learn with the community the best way of doing something. Use the search function or be fed to spice-rex.
Edit: when you hit "send" to post a question it should display a search result of your topic / post and ask if you're REALLLY sure you want to ask again about RAID5.

We do a bit, that's why I have the "If you respect me, you'll question me" thread.
